For 2 days Thunderbird has been sending the same email over and over (more than 100 times) and I can't access new messages. How do I stop this?

For 2 days I have been receiving the same message over and over and so it does not allow me to access new emails being sent to me. I have closed and relaunched Thunderbird and rebooted my system but neither has helped. I have the latest version of Thunderbird and am running Windows 10 on a Dell system. How do I get rid of this email?

I'd suggest you go to your email provider's website, log in to your email account there and delete this message.

The message may be malformed such that Thunderbird can't convince itself that it has download the complete message, or your antivirus may be choking on it.

Thank you. It has finally stopped but I think that your solution is right for the next time it occurs.
