Thunderbird locks up opening attachments and when opening tools options attachments
I am running Thunderbird version 45.2 and am have a problem with opening Tools Options Attachments, each time I try to open the attachments option the program locks up and I have to use task manager to close program.

Try to start Thunderbird in safe mode. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/safe-mode-thunderbird
Do you still see the problem?
I started Thunderbird in safe mode and it still locks up. Some addition info, There is two users on this computer the second user does not have a problem getting into the attachment option. Both users are listd as administrators.
In Thunderbird
On the toolbar 
> Click the > beside help on the menu. > Troubleshooting information
Click the show profile button.
Close Thunderbird
Delete the file mimetypes.rdf
Restart Thunderbird.
That should force a full rebuild of the attachments data in Thunderbird so I would expect the problem to be solved.
