Just hangs up

error message: Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.googlemail.com timed out. Try again.

Do you have an anti virus scanning outgoing mail? Try disabling it.

Next Time I rebooted it went away. This has happened before and when/if it does I'll try your solution.
