When I download and save the Firefox file then try to run the file, it does nothing. I just had my laptop checked by Support.com for all the bad stuff that could be my laptop. It was cleaned up and only had one virus which was cleaned up. I had Firefox running on my laptop for many years, then all of a sudden it would not work. That's when I had Support.com check out my laptop. They couldn't find anything wrong but said to delete Firefox and down load a fresh copy. This I tried like I said to no avail. I have Norton Security Suite on the laptop and shut all of Norton down but still would not load. I have Firefox on two other desktops and it works fine. One is running WinXP and other Win7 Professional.

Not sure if you tried downloading a "full" installer. The standard "stub" installer needs to connect back for more files and some security software may block that.

This page has the full installers -- scroll down to your preferred language: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

The standard version for Windows is 32-bit and supports a broad range of plugins. If you have 64-bit Windows you can run the 64-bit version, but it only supports Flash and Silverlight, so if you need Java, VLC, Google Talk, or anything else, stick with the original.
