The list of issues long To make an entry on a web screen, I have to type it in a word document and then cut and paste it into the field on the web screen. My cursor jumps all over the place when I type and have to keep erasing what I just typed and repositioning the cursor to where it should be. When I try to backspace to erase something, I’m back on a previous web page

Hi  !

'Hope your cat's still purring   ..........

This is of course not a   Firefox - issue;   I think the best thing for you to do is to take your device to the store where you bought it   (if at all possible)  or a repair man,   and see if they can fix it.
Who knows:   with a bit of luck they have everything back to normal in no time.

Mozilla Firefox is not the internet:   it is a browser.
Short for Web browser, a browser is a software application used to locate, retrieve and display content on the World Wide Web, including Web pages, images, video and other files. As a client/server model, the browser is the client run on a computer that contacts the Web server and requests information. The Web server sends the information back to the Web browser which displays the results on the computer or other Internet-enabled device that supports a browser.
Firefox did not   're-program'  your keyboard;   your cat did   ..........   (like you say in the heading of your question).

The Internet is a massive network of networks, a networking infrastructure. It connects millions of computers together globally, forming a network in which any computer can communicate with any other computer as long as they are both connected to the Internet.

Hi, since you are sure that the keyboard works in Word, it may be that your cat stands falsely accused!

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:

  • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click Help Help-29 and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
  • On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.

To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem. Thank you!
