Inbox messages since mid-July suddenly disappeared. Can they be restored?
Earlier, I downloaded a couple of jpgs attached to messages in my inbox. Later on, I went back to the inbox to review any unread messages and saw that all emails from July 17th to today were gone, maybe 100-150.
I tested the system by successfully downloading some new emails from my Google mailbox, so that shows me it was a one-time (I hope!) catastrophe.
My question is, does someone know for sure how to restore or find these emails? I already tried "repair folder".

Me again.
The mass of mails were all in the trash folder. Lucky for me I didn't throw out all of the trash!
Instead, I did a mass move and put them back into the inbox.
