I click on it. Nothing. F10 does nothing. I wish it was also there among the 'File - Edit - View - History - Bookmarks - Tools - Help' section. Please add that there, also.

Alternate way to access the 3 bar menu is Tools --> Options

I don't see it. It just takes me to 'Options' which is not the same as the items in the 3-Bar Menu. Example: I can't find the mouse-over, Red Exit Button. Looks like I'll hafta 'End Process Tree' to exit to keep my FF Windows and session.

Additional Info: When I mouse-over the the 3-Bar icon, it goes gray and a pop-up says, 'Open menu'. As originally, stated though, nothing happens when I click on it.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Will all my windows (the whole session) recover or will I be greeted with one FF window when I 'Restart without Extensions'?

I see 'Exit' under 'File' (upper-left). Is this the same as the Red Exit under the 3-Bar Menu or does it only close the current FF window?

Update: I have access to the Menu with some open browser windows, but not with most of them. I found that 'Control-Shift-Q' works, if I should not have Menu access at all.

I also notice I have Menu access on a Restore Screen after a crash.

Update Dec 25, 2017:

As I wait for an answer about "Does a FF Restart Without Extensions' recover all my browser windows and Tabs, as does 'Control-Shift-Q'?", I meanwhile, disabled all 3 Extensions I have, 'Control-Shift-Q' to close FF, started back up. Same problem some FF windows allow the 3-Bar Menu to work (and YouTube Full-screen), others do not (and I can't do Full-screen YouTube).

Can not guarantee anything. But should not have a problem. But since have a problem anything can happen.

Safe Mode Test

In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:

  • all extensions are disabled (about:addons)
  • default theme is used (no persona)
  • userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored (chrome folder)
  • default toolbar layout is used (file: localstore-safe.rdf)
  • Javascript JIT compilers are disabled (prefs: javascript.options.*jit)
  • hardware acceleration is disabled (Options > Advanced > General)
  • plugins are not affected
  • preferences are not affected
