FF is a Browser not a connection software. If your setup isn't working FF will not connect to the internet. The Browser connects only when you have your internet working.
Hi peggyway, usually Firefox looks to MacOS to decide which network to use. That might be set up correctly if you posted from the computer with the problem.
So, next question, are you getting a specific error message on sites you want to load? What happens.
Also, thank you for sharing your Firefox add-ons list. Many of these look like programs other users ask for help removing. I think it's worth a minute for you to take a closer look:
You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
- Command+Shift+a (Windows: Ctrl+Shift+a)
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
- type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return
In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions.
Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. Any extensions Firefox installs for built-in features are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Anything suspicious or that you just do not remember installing or why? If in doubt, disable (or remove).
Not sure whether that will help with not being able to connect, but maybe it will help you regain control of some features like your preferred home page, new tab page, and search engine.
