smart bookmarks folder won't display bookmarks in FF65
I recently upgraded to FF65 (quantum) in High Sierra and bookmarks no longer show up in my 2 smart bookmark folders in the bookmark menu (says they're empty). If I open Library, they're in there. I saw a tip for FF62 and earlier to change browser.places.smartBookmarksVersion to 0 in about:config to restore the default smart folders thinking that might fix it but not surprisingly, it didn't change anything. Seems like something needs to be tweaked or maybe smart folders are no longer supported? Any ideas? Thanks,

The browser.places.smartBookmarksVersion pref is no longer supported, so you can't use it to restore/recreate lost smart folders.
Smart folders should still work. Do your smart folders have a special folder icon indicating it is a smart folder?
You can't edit the location of a smart folder, so you would have to create a new folder and check if is works.
What smart folders is this about?

Thanks for the reply. These are 2 custom smart folders I made years ago to store bookmarks that I give a certain tag. The folders have an icon that looks like circle with 6 spokes around it, kind of like a sun. I have them in a subfolder of the bookmarks menu folder in the Library, so they're still there but I can't get to them through the bookmarks menu, which is why I set it up that way in the 1st place. It seems like there's a disconnect. I read a little of the link you sent but it seems like it's for creating a smart folder from scratch. Maybe not? I honestly don't remember how I set it up to begin with, although I think it may have had something to do with StumbleUpon, which I believe is now dead. I'd rather just fix it so that they appear in the bookmarks menu subfolder like they used to. Is there a setting I can change to do that?
You can create a JSON or HTML backup and check what code is used for these smart folders. If a smart folder isn't working then try a copy/cut and paste to another folder. Otherwise you would have to create a new smart folder with a place: query. You need to close and restart Firefox (or cut and paste to another folder) to make Firefox recognize this folder as a smart folder.
