Error in Firefox Android when searching on eBay UK site

Using FF v68.8.1 on a Samsung Tab A10 (2019) Android tablet. On the eBay UK site whenever I enter anything in the "search" box, it returns a page saying "service unavailable" along with some links, including one to "try again". Tapping that just returns the same page.

I have already tried clearing the cache and cookies (by selecting Settings - Clear private data - Clear now - leaving all boxes ticked). It has made no difference. I also tried the "Cookie Quick Manage" extension - no difference. The same Firefox version on my Android phone does NOT exhibit the same issue.

Any ideas please, anyone?

I should have mentioned, the issue does not occur if I use the Chrome browser on the same device.
