Notorious login prompt by ebay on each page (mobile)
I'm using FF (96) on Android 10. When browsing Ebay I will be prompted for password on almost every page change (maybe some are cached). Fully reproducible if paging through my watch list.
I have already cleared all data, reinstalled, switched off tracking, granted exceptions to ebay. Nothing helped. Works perfectly on Chrome.
Finally I noticed, that the problem disappeared, when requesting desktop site. Of course, desktop site apears too small, so I'm using Chrome for the moment.

Hi
Do you have any add-ons installed in Firefox for Android?
What level of enhanced tracking protection do you have set?
Hi, initially I had uBlock Origin installed, but disabling and removing it did not change anything. As mentioned, I also cleared all data, which -I believe- did also reset addons. I even uninstalled/reinstalled firefox, no change. I also lowered tracking protection.
The key must be in some difference between the mobile version and the desktop page, since requesting desktop side changes the behaviour.
When you log into that site, is there an option to select to remain logged in?
Are you using any security or firewall apps on your Android device?
Hi,
yes, there is the "Remain logged in" checkbox and I have it checked. I'm only using uBlock Origin, but I already removed it and it didn't make a change. Again, I want to stress that the problem goes away, if I just request Desktop-Website. I usually accept necessary cookies only, but accepting all cookies doesn't help either.
Testing procedure:
- browse to ebay.de
- click on the My Ebay icon
- navigate to Watchlist
- click any item
- click the Android Back button
>> prompts for sign-in
While testing the procedure, I noticed that it works fine on ebay.com (instead of ebay.de). Something must be wrong in checking authorization when navigating the site. Maybe not page code but some other security configuration.
Anyways, thanks for looking into it. I think I have to write to ebay, unless you have some hint, how this can be different between browsers and even mobile vs. desktop site.
