That's not a mozilla software side to address beyond the security of the mozilla software itself. To do what your asking is to ask a computer consultant that question.
Hi Gary, Firefox has some features to protect you from phishing and malware. However, it is not up-to-the minute with online threats, so if you tend to be adventurous in your browsing and visit sites you haven't heard of before, you may want to consider supplemental protection. For example:
(1) DNS-based filtering (free for home use)
OpenDNS is a service that can block dangerous URLs (or adult content, if applicable) more quickly than Firefox's own lists are updated. If you select this service, you need to turn off DNS over HTTPS. More information:
- https://www.opendns.com/home-internet-security/, https://www.opendns.com/setupguide/
- Configure DNS over HTTPS protection levels in Firefox
(2) Annoyance blocking add-on
uBlock Origin is a popular content blocker which may have improved security and privacy as a side effect of limiting ads. You can find more information on the Mozilla Add-ons site here: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/
(3) Commercial security software
It is beyond the scope of this forum to recommend particular products to supplement or replace Windows Defender. You can find reviews on major testing sites like PC Magazine. Please do not be tempted by ad popups, those usually are products that aren't good enough to get customers through normal marketing.
