Bookmarks still not working

I have added the Torbutton add-on (had to search for it), restarted, problem not solved. Disabled all add-ons, restarted, still not solved. I entered Firefox in Safe Mode, reset toolbars and still not working right.

I lost all my bookmarks, but yet some still have the yellow star by them (just don't show on managing bookmarks or in my files to select a webpage I had saved. Try to resave and still doesn't show up. Very frustrating and many, MANY work related saved sites. I'm very frustrated and wanting an answer pretty quickly :( PLEASE HELP! This seems to have coincided when I upgraded.

There is no need to install the Torbutton extension. That extension is only mentioned in that troubleshooting article as a possible cause of that issue.

I have checked out those troubleshooting links and still cannot find a fix. I don't know what else to try.
