When installing the Java Plugin for Firefox, can I install it without use of the .EXE file? If so, please tell me how.
I am running Ubuntu 10.04, and do not wish to use the .EXE file. I am running the Windows version of Firefox. PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME TO USE THE UBUNTU VERSION OF FIREFOX.

Did you check the software installation of your Linux distribution to see if you can install Sun Java ?
See:

- http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp (Java Platform: Download JRE)
You can also find the Java installer for Linux here:

I do not need the Linux version of Java. I have that already. What I do need is the Java Plugin for Firefox.
You may need to install an additional package that contains the JP2 plugin for Firefox. I have java-1_6_0-sun-plugin
