i installed firefox Rc4 didnt like it and reinstalled 3.6 but now none of my extentions work or i am not able to install new one or update them.
All extensions say "This add on will be installed when Firefox is restarted. I have started Firefox in safe mode and it still has same issue. Uninstalled and reinstalled. same issue

Downgrading to Firefox 3.6 can cause problems with extensions. You need to go to your profile folder and delete the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions and checking their compatibility.

I did what you said and i am still having the same issue.
Try "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults" on the Safe mode start window. That will also restore your corrupted user agent (Firefox/3.0.11)
