When I restart Firefox 4, the tabs that I had opened don't reload. Nor does Firefox 4 ask me if I want to shut down and save the tabs, as the various versions of Firefox 3 had done.

You can set the warn prefs on the about:config page to true via the right-click context menu or toggle with a double left-click.

  • browser.showQuitWarning

The pref is already set to "true" for all these options. I'm using the release of 4, not the beta. I'd appreciate any other suggestions. Getting tabs back through "history" is a fix, but kind of clumsy, I think.

Go to about:config (enter it in the address bar), and find browser.showQuitWarning and set it to true. This will make Firefox ask you each time if you want to save your session to restore the next time you open it, like in 3

I think I may have found the answer. In Firefox preferences on the toolbar, go to General, Start up, and change from the drop down menu to "show my windows and tabs from the last time."

Make sure that you do not use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox to clear the "Browsing History"

This didn't work because everything is already set to "true." Thanks anyway.

Thanks. I had the same idea. I think I'm never going to clear my browser history until Mozilla fixes this. A lot of people seem to be having the same problem, so I assume they'll address it.
