After downloaded the new FF4, they had a layout showing the new look of FF and where everything was moved to. On their layout is shows the tabs under the Firefox menu (button). It would show more of the persona if it was like this, but after downloading the new version and opening FF the tabs are beside the Firefox menu, bunching everything at the top and not leaving much room to show off our great persona's we downloaded. Does anyone know if this can be fixed in options or by and add on?

  • You can either not use Maximize mode or disable the feature.
  • To disable this feature type in the address bar: about:config then press "I'll be careful".
  • In the Filter box type: browser.tabs.drawInTitlebar double-click that entry to turn it to false.

I already have my tabs at the top. The first picture is how Mozilla shows the new FF, but the second picture is how my browser looks

Sorry, I misread your posting. The images you provided help me understand you now.

When the Firefox window is Maximized, the Tabs are in the Titlebar area. When the window is not Maximized, they are below the the Titlebar and Firefox button, as in this image.

I did minimize the window and the tabs did move under the Firefox button, but it adds a border bar. I guess what I was trying to accomplish is giving more room at the top to have more visible space for the persona's.

Would anyone be able to suggest an add on that would accomplish this?

---Your original question was how to put tabs at the bottom again, like it was before. As stated, You click View | Toolbars and select Tabs on Top (to uncheck it, as default is checked).

---As for personas, maybe right clicking on the toolbar and selecting Customize, then at the bottom, unchecking "use small icons" will broaden your toolbar a little more.

---No idea why you'd want an add-on. If there's one thing I myself can't stand, it's having to add programs just to accomplish small tasks that shouldn't have been ignored to begin with. The ability to drag and drop toolbars is a lot simpler than a cutsie "move tabs to the top/bottom" check-mark-thingy. Consider the more add-ons and such, the more trouble you'll have with the plugin-container, which has been nothing more than a headache since its implementation.

---Sorry I can't help more, this new BS is new to me as well.

My original question was answered, to achieve what I was looking for you have to minimize the screen, but in doing that it added a border and did not do what I thought it would, which is give me more viewable area for my downloaded persona. There is no point in having the persona's if you can't see the picture. As for the add on that is the only thing I can think of that would give me more viewable space for the persona without putting in useless toolbars.

ar89, your brilliant! That fixed it and did just what I wanted with out having to sacrifice the window being maximized.
