[]Opening a bookmark or entering a web address does not work.

The result is only: "New tab".
Also opening in the Firefox Help menu results in "New tab".
By clicking on "New tab" nothing happens!

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

The problem is not solved. The only possibility that remains is: from bookmarks make a backup, download and install Mozilla Firefox and then replace the bookmarks. Whether you know a better solution?

Can't you open any web page or do you only have that problem with bookmarks?

Issues with bookmarks or history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.
