Well Thank You Cor-el, but Ive been there done that already. I know that disabling the extension (New Tab) itself corrects the issue but I thought perhaps a work around might exist to remedy the error displayed each time.
If that extension isn't working properly then you need to disable or remove it.
Do you have the latest version (5.0.8) of that extension?
