Secondary browser windows open at the same time do not have the same functions active. i.e. Back/Forward, Reload, Stop buttons and the url address does not show in the bar. I set the HOME page in the Options and it does not open with that Home Page. This never happened with any past FireFox versions.

I did as instructed and deleted the localstore.rfd file. Nothing changed. The 1st Firefox browser I open has the settings as I want and all buttons function and the urls appear as they should. BUT, if I open another Firefox browser I'm back at the same point as I described previously. Any other suggestions, I really want to get Firefox operating properly, but I can't get this fixed I'm going to chuck Firefox and use Google Chrome for my default browser. That's sad since I prefer Firefox.

Does that happen when you open a new window from within Firefox?
Like using { Ctrl + N } or Firefox button > New Tab -> New Window?

I wonder about is the different "backgrounds" shown in your screenshots, plus the 1st shows the Menu Bar items and the 2nd shows the Firefox button with the Menu Bar items below it. Were those screenshots taken at the same time, relative to having one window open, then took the screenshot, and then you opened a 2nd window, then took that screenshot?

The orange Firefox button shouldn't appear with the Menu Bar items - period. I think you have created that problem by over-customizing Firefox, and that there are conflicting add-ons installed which are causing that to happen.

Yes, it happens with either of those options to open a new window. Also, if I open a new window from my Programs list or a desktop shortcut. This never happened before I updated to 5.0.1! The "different backgrounds" are not really different. The difference in color is due to one is on my laptop screen and the other on my axillary monitor. They were both open at the same time. I have the same add-ons installed on them. The add-ons I have installed are very limited and are the same I have had in prior Firefox versions. I have FireFTP, Web Developer, Firebug, S3 Organizer, Web Console and ColorZilla. How do I get rid of the ORANGE Firefox button? To my knowledge I have not "over-customized" Firefox. Everything is the same as I had with prior versions and NEVER had any problems like this.

This whole thing happens anytime I open a second browser, no matter how I do it. Now, even from a link in an e-mail it opens a new browser that is all screwed up. I'm ready to uninstall Mozilla for good and use Chrome.
