Firefox crashes - No crash dump file - No longer works
For some reason, I've had a few problems with Firefox recently. The latest is that each time I try to load it, it crashes straight away, occasionally letting me send an error report, others not. It always comes up with an error that states: Firefox had a problem and crashed. We'll try to restore your tabs and windows when it restarts. Unfortunately the crash reporter is unable to submit a crash report. Details: The application did not leave a crash dump file.
I've tried restarting my computer in safe mode to see if it works then, but it is coming up with the same error. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, yet nothing has helped at all. I've also got problems opening Chrome and Safari, and now Explorer seems to be the only browser that works on my computer. I've downloaded malwarebytes by recommendation from a family member, yet that isn't finding any viruses/malware on my computer. As that's what I initially thought it could be. As I'm unable to open Firefox at all, I'm unable to obtain any previous crash ID's. I do have the details that come up in the 'Details' box when Firefox says that it has crashed, but unsure whether that would help establish any sort of information to help with the issue. I'm not that technically minded, so if someone could help me out with it, I'd really appreciate it. I'm stuck using Opera, and it was alright for a while, but now I'm getting annoyed that Firefox isn't working at all. It won't even open. I really would appreciate the help!

Do you have Roboform installed?
Do you have a SSO (single sign on) extension installed?
Nope, never even heard of Roboform. The same with SSO, never heard of it.
Since it affects multiple browsers it really points to an OS configuration or malware infection.
Aside from MalwareBytes have you scanned with any other anti-virus?
We can try any get some crash ids by going to %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports\submitted and provide the 3 most recent bp-### numbers (the file names)
I've got Norton installed and that's found nothing. Also, I had AVG for a while and that found nothing either. Do I need to be on Firefox to do that? Because it doesn't open at all, so I wouldn't be able to do it. If not, how do I do it? As I mentioned, I'm not technically minded, so would need help with it.
Tpye "%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports\submitted " into the search bar (without quotes) A window of the directory should be shown Sort files by creation/modification time Provide the 3 most recent bp-### numbers (these are the file names)
bp-5c7bbba9-4c19-4d17-af33-c9aee2111009
bp-766c0d73-dd0b-4852-8f0e-e1c432111009
bp-deeef059-e65b-4d18-be37-1eead2111009
Those are the most recent three that are showing.
The only crash that has any usable info is https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/deeef059-e65b-4d18-be37-1eead2111009
That one points to a possible malware infection (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=530074).
Have you scanned your computer for malware?
Yeah I am running MS Windows 2000 SP4, running the latest version of FF.
This morning I was working in FF and had to make some changes to Cookie settings, after doing this action then restarting FF there is no more functional FF, only the warning message that warns; "the application did not leave a crash dump file"
Has anyone found the solution to restoring FF considering that the poster above stated that uninstallation/re-installation did solve the problem?
Thank you
