Trusteer informed me that a new version of their Rapport software that is compatible with Firefox 9 is available at http://download.trusteer.com/Gcur4Wtnu/RapportSetup.exe

Use a release version instead, like Firefox 8.

I have spoken directly with Trusteer Rapport about the incompatibility with Firefox 9.0 beta. They confirm it is the case but are working on a compatible version and have promised to advise me when it is available ... so keep a look out.

If they are looking into making it for the Firefox 9.0 Beta test builds, on upside they will be ready for 9.0 final.

With a few minutes to spare I have just downloaded the Firefox Version 8.0.1 to replace the 9.0 beta. It took about 30 seconds and now shows the Rapport symbol in the address bar. All previous features - Yahoo Toolbar for example - remained in place.

As above - useful precaution whilst waiting for Rapport to be made compatible with Firefox 9.00 beta.

kpcalling, you misread. It is not Firefox that has to be made compatible but rather the Trusteer Rapport stuff has to be updated.

Slip James - transposition. I have amended my previous message however, today Wed 14 Dec 2011, I have received the following mail from Trusteer Rapport:

We are glad to inform you that a version of Rapport which supports Firefox 9 has been released and is now available for download in the following link: http://download.trusteer.com/Gcur4Wtnu/RapportSetup.exe

Please make sure to restart your computer after the installation process is completed.

HOWEVER - when I tried the update it placed the Rapport icon successfully in the Firefox 9 address bar and I though I had cracked it BUT when I later restarted Firefox 9 the Rapport icon was missing. A few tests - download Rapport upgrade again - Firefox 9 showed their icon but on reload of Firefox 9 it had disappeared.

Have sent details to Trusteer Rapport - so await further advice.

24th December 2011 - Christmas Eve.

Just to report that Trusteer Rapport is now compatible with Firefox Version 9

However - a caution/warning: Firefox 9 is now offerring an update. If you accept it it downloads a new Firefox version 10 and (you've guessed it) Trusteer Rapport is not yet compatible with Firefox Version 10 which is a beta version.. So if on V.9 currently then refuse the update when offerred.

Happy Christmas one and all.

If Mozilla is offering an update to Firefox Beta 10, you are on the Beta channel not the Release channel. You can see that in Help > About Firefox.

In agree with Ed that you were using testing of the six 9.0 Beta builds and not the 9.0 final. The Firefox 9.0 final would only give you 9.0.1 as a update.

To get back on Firefox 9 and release channel, just download Firefox 9.0.1 from mozilla.com and install that.
