Firefox 10 is not compatible with my internet security. How do I remove it and go back to a version that is compatible?
Only after downloading and installing Firefox 10 did I discover that it was not compatible with Norton and Comcast Constant Guard. I need to remove Firefox 10 and replace it with a previous version that is compatible with Norton and Comcast Constant Guard. Version 8.0.1 seems to work.

Though its not a malware guide line forum..but still please ONE AntiMalware AT A time. It may harm dangerous for your pc. You may think more AV means more protection, but it never happen. It may cause random crash and BSOD on your Pc. Btw Norton is fully compatible with Firefox 10. See:
I don't fully understand your reply. The Norton Security comes as part of Comcast Constant Guard supplied by Comcast as a package. I don't think I have two AV programs running at the same time. However, I will do the Norton update.

Run a Live Update from the Norton button in the System Tray (where the clock is located at the bottom of the screen) - you may need to do that repeatedly until it is completely updated.
OK, I did that and Norton says I am updated completely. So now my question is: am I protected? I know very little about security systems. If I open Norton Security Suite, it says that I am protected, but what about the message I got that Firefox 10 and Norton were not compatible? Have I fixed the problem with the Norton update?
Go to Tools-Addon-Extension and tell us the version of your Norton addon?
The version number of the Norton toolbar is: 2011.7.5.2 The version number of the Symantec Intrusion Prevention is:10.1.0.68-1
These are all the numbers related to Norton in the list of add-ons.
If I open Norton Security Site and look under about, the version of the software is:
5.2.0.13
These are all the numbers related to Norton that I found.Hope this helps.
Looks like you are using Norton 2011. Please run a clean installation and run update manually twice and three time untill no updates are required, then check please note the upgrade is free during your license period. Upgrading instruction can be found here

I did that already. Version 7.5.2 is one of the versions that, according to the Norton site that you refer to, will work. My Norton Internet Security Suite software claims that I am protected. I will ask them.
According to the instructions given on the Norton Community forum under "Other Norton Products/Comcast-Customers - Norton Toolbar Problem in Firefox 10", I have done everything necessary. And I do have a Norton toolbar (Safe Web and Identity Safe) when I open Firefox 10. As was mentioned in the previous posts here, you need to run manual LiveUpdate then reboot until you have version 5.2.0.13. Then reboot and run manual LiveUpdate again and reboot once more. One thing that I noticed is that Norton never told me that it had updated the patch for Firefox 10, so I didn't know. I guess if you have the toolbar when you run Firefox 10, then you have done it all.
I neglected to say thank you for your help, all of you. It appears that the problem is solved. Just update Norton using LiveUpdate until you get 5.2.0.13, reboot, run LiveUpdate again until Norton tells you that you are up to date. That should work.
Glad to See :)
