Same thing here. It crashes every time I try to open from desktop, but if I right click an existing html file under "Open With" Mozilla firefox, it opens fine. here are my crash reports. top is the newest

Why is it not impacting on my Desktop computer if it is a Norton problem?

Because you likely don't have the same Norton extensions on your Desktop. This is only being caused by Norton Confidential and some versions of the norton toolbar, the 2012 and 2013 versions.

What exactly do you mean by Norton Confidential? I have using the Norton Vault on both systems.

Norton Confidential is a Firefox add-on produced by Norton. They also have the Norton Toolbar. type about:addons in the address bar, go to extensions, and see what norton add-ons you have there.
