Every time I open a new tab I get a full-page YAHOO ad. I want to block YAHOO completely.

My opening page choice is "about blank", but instead of a blank page I get a very annoying full-page ad for YAHOO. I do not use YAHOO, largely because it is such a rude nuisance.

I want my opening page to be blank, and every time I open a new tab I want it to be blank until I select the web I want to see.

hello bobdi2, you can manually change the page that opens on each new tab.

enter about:config into the firefox location bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up), search for the preference named browser.newtab.url and double-click & change its value to about:blank (the default would be about:newtab which shows thumbnails & links to your most visited pages).
