My current HP Photosmart ePrinter works with Firefox and is working in my Homegroup Network. By chance I found in the above troubleshooter that my old dead HP Deskjet is still shown in there. I cant see a way to update it, and I dont have the skill to remove it. I asked on the Forum first without success. I'll be very angry IF in 6 months time the Photosmart is rejected because its not shown in the FF/Help - Troubleshooting Information column. I dont regret dumping the deskjet but I can now see there is provision to switch from a USB printer to a network printer and that such a move may have changed the record in FF Help. I'll say again - the new printer is working well and is correctly listed in the obvious places.

If it works it is probably easiest just to leave things alone for now. Make a backup of your Firefox profile then you are able to investigate and correct or restore print related settings later if you need to.

You mention you reverted from fx15.1 to fx15.0 I am not sure how that would help anything. If you did that by re-installing fx15 over the top of fx15.1 it would make little difference to anything. If you did it by using a Windows restore point you would probably loose some information and/or settings in the process.

With HP printers I have sometimes suspected some of the software upgrades have been problematic, and have had printing problems after upgrading. I now tend to be rather conservative and do not always immediately accept available HP upgrades.

You can reset unneeded print prefs on the about:config page via the right-click context menu and they wil be removed on the next start.

Thanks John I can see the info in the About: Config that cor-el writes about. The warning on that page terrifies me so I shall pay a professional to make the changes for me!!

Thanks friend, I can see that may be the way forward - for someone with the skills.

As long as you back up the Profile you can relatively easily return the settings to what they were. You could also use a pen and paper and write down what you change making a note of the original and the new settings and which preference is changed.

If you are just changing print preferences the worst that is likely to happen is that you will have a problem with printing that you need to sort out. You should not need professional help.

The warning is there because if you make a change that you do not understand you could break Firefox, but someone on this forum will be able to help you if you do mess up something, especially if you backup the Firefox profile before each change that you make.
