I am getting pop up notifications that Firefox needs a video upgrade. as I look at the URLs that the upgrade is coming from, it just doesnt look right. Then one page was arcade games that I could not avoid accepting. Is Firefox recommending this video upgrade? I cancelled the install. I am not having any problems at this time. As far as I know, I am running the latest version of Firefox on my new windows 8.1 laptop.

No, Firefox doesn't pop up such notifications. You can check if you have the latest drivers on your graphics card manufacturer's web site. Windows Update might also help.

You're not running the latest version of Firefox.

If you get the same notifications regardless of which sites you visit, your computer is probably infested with malware.
