can't get firefox to save yahoo password

So, at one point I had firefox save my Yahoo email password...than yahoo made me change my password so it'll say invalid password if I try to login (since password field has my old password saved). After I enter the new password I get no option to "update" my password. So every time I login I have to erase the old saved password and type the new one.

I went to firefox > preferences > security > saved passwords. and deleted the old password, but when I login now it doesn't give me the option of or question to save the password.


On Mac 10.9.2 using firefox 28.0

The Yahoo website uses autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving form data like name and password.

You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox store form data like names and passwords.

Note that Firefox won't auto-fill saved form data automatically when autocomplete=off is used, so you need to double-click the empty name field to get a drop-down list.
