Why do you feel compelled to fix something that isn't broken?
Have you hired all of the lame staff at Microsoft? One of these days you nerds will find out that life is too short to have to worry about learning every task anew each morning. The automobile industry, as bad as it is, has never done anything as stupid as you do gooders! Who would imagine walking out to their car one morning to find the steering wheel had been moved to the back seat. Who could imagine calling GM or Ford and being told that the car you bought to transport 6 people can now only transport 4, because they decided to do away with half of the front seat to improve visibility for the driver who must now sit in the back seat. You may think this is a stupid analogy, but I ask you "Why is any analogy necessary?". You have not justified your sweeping changes like "moving the tabs from the bottom to the top" and then requiring one to download another program to "FIX" this - good God man - THINK! Who gives you permission to do this? Is it the people you serve? I DON'T THINK SO !

What is your problem? Why did you posted hat useless brick of text? You didnt ask a question(actually you did, but it isnt connected to firefox). If you dont like new australis interface(I'm just guessing), which is used in firefox 29, try using classic theme restorer (addon).
You can look at the Classic Theme Restorer extension to restore some functionality that was lost with the arrival of the Australis style in Firefox 29.
- Classic Theme Restorer: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/
Yeah, I installed the classic - but that doesn't answer my question. Who and Why did anyone think they needed to change the functionality of Firefox. If you don't comprehend my complaint it might be because you were/are part of the development team who made 1000 decisions without bothering to get any input from users (customers). If my question was a brick then drop it on your head for failing to comprehend the question.
Most of the people here are volunteers and fellow users of Firefox. If you would like to leave a comment on a database that gets analysed and the results passed to developers and those making the changes please use feedback
Whilst you may be frustrated your attitude is not going to encourage volunteers to try to help you.

I'm in a little bit of agreement with the OP.
I thought FF29 was great -- no problems.
Now, I have the tabs ABOVE the address/URL bar with no way of getting them below. And the tabs have no definition or clearly visible separation.
I tried some Classic add-on, but that didn't work AND it looked terrible.
When a useful feature is taken away, it can't be called it an upgrade, and if an add-on has to be installed to get the site to look the way it was, it would have to be called a failure. Agree?
Constructive suggestion for FF30 -- return to FF28 and just fix anything that doesn't work.
MisterBee,
Try one of these.

Sorry we are doing our best to help but we are not the developers making the changes or decisions.
We can help you get the most out of Firefox 29, but we can not change its development or the future developments of Firefox. You are in the wrong place for that. Requesting changes to Firefox here is unfortunately wasting your own and everyone else’s time.
Development and Design Policy
As I said we are fellow users of Firefox. Some of the developers that made the changes may have popped into the forum the last few days but normally do not use this forum. That is why I suggested using the feedback option.
Firefox 29 is to some extent work in progress and your feedback may influence future releases, but frankly IMHO it is unlikely to cause a U-turn in a long term plan.
I will quote one of them.

Each setting you see in a computer program you use requires work; when a developer wants to build something new or improve something, he or she has to go through each related (hidden) setting and test if it still works like before and do that on each platform Firefox runs on. That's Apple's Mac OSX, various flavours of Linux and various flavours of Windows, including Windows XP. This costs time, lots of it, and that amount grows exponentially with each setting that's added. This comes on top of our work to continuously fix, improve and innovate Firefox.
Tabs Visibility & Accessibility
The easiest method off making the tabs stand out more is to use a simple solid theme, they are easy to install and preview as you hover over the example on the addon site. See
- https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/themes/solid
- maybe this grey one https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/solid-grey/
Slightly more complicated but Jeff one of the contributors has a solution

ed-meister,
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! The first link worked exactly as I want. The second one moved the tabs, but altered something else.
And another member provided a link to a Stylish fix to get the tabs back to being visible.
Now I'm happy with FF again.
Why can't Mozilla simply provide these options in about:config?
Hi MisterBee,
Glad we helped and you are happy with Firefox again.
Why can't Mozilla simply provide these options in about:config?
One of the developers was around the forum recently trying to answer some of these questions so I will quote the developer

john99,
Thanks for your reply.
I really like Firefox for the ability to change the way it looks and works. I have tried the others and didn't like the way they looked or worked, and they didn't do what I wanted it to do.
BUT, with FF29... this was the first time I had to join a support forum to get the FF working the way I want.
It's good to know that you moderators are listening, and providing quick assistance.
