I tried to install the addon searchreset in order to remove Bing but the addon is not appearing in my toolbar

Hello - I am trying to remove Bing as my default engine. I have tried all of the methods suggested on the web and nothing has worked. I tried to install the add on SearchReset suggested on Mozilla support. I've tried to download it several times but it's not showing up on my toolbar or add on manager so I'm unable to run it. Any suggestions on how to run this add on? I've tried "troubleshooting information > reset firefox" and I get an error message each time before the reset completes. I've also run a scan for malware and haven't found anything. I'm desperate to remove Bing! Thanks for your help, Allison

On your search bar click on the Bing icon click manage search engines, and simply delete it.

SearchReset installs, then does its' thing, then it is gone.
