Firefox crashed and now I don't have any of my bookmarks. How can I restore them? Thank you!
My computer locked up and I had to remove the battery to restart it. Firefox updated, and when it came back online, none of my favorites are there. When I went into the hidden files, nothing was there either. Is there anyway to restore my favorites? And how do I save my favorites into a file so that I can restore in case this happens again.
I'm running Windows 8 on a Dell Inspiron Laptop.
Thank you!

OK, thank you for your responses. You will think I'm a total moron, but I am not as tech savvy as all of you. It turns out when Mozilla updated, it defaulted the toolbar to hidden. So the data was all there, just hidden. (very embarrassed that I didn't think to look for something like that). All I had to do was "Show Toolbar". Maybe this solution can help someone else. But now I will make sure I do have back ups.

There are 3 links that are saved in my favorites - from the Olympics in 2014. So something is there, just not the important ones for my business. Thanks.

Did you check if Firefox didn't create a new profile?
Is there an "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop?
Is the bookmarkbackups folder in the profile folder empty as well?
Is there only one profile in the parent location of the current Firefox profile folder?
- C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

These can't get your data back, but will help in the future.
These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox
FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) {web link} FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your saved files individually into installable .xpi files. It will also make backup of files that you choose.

That was good work. Well done.
