I just switched from mail (apple) and there while I'm writing an e mail I can click one word and look at it's translation or thesaurus. This enables me to make sure that I'm using the right spelling. How do I do this with bluebird?

If spelling is what you're after, that's built into Thunderbird. http://email.about.com/od/mozillathunderbirdtips/qt/et_inline_spell.htm

Beyond that you can search for a matching add-on on AMO. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/ http://kb.mozillazine.org/Dictionaries
