I am running 10.10.5 and Firefox 41.0.2. Sophos tells me no problems.

When in Gmail or any other program running in Firefox the program quits to screen message;- "Oops!!

Google cannot load this page for some reason"

The Try Again box has no affect.

However using 'Most Visited' (top LH end of Firefox screen) returns to place that quit, with no loss of data

Chosen solution

Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

If clearing cookies didn't help then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies got corrupted.

  • Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and if present delete cookies.sqlite-shm and cookies.sqlite-wal in the Firefox profile folder in case cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

Hurtlepuss1 do you mean you are on the Gmail website? If you haven't already try clearing your cookies.

This may be the answer, but I cannot find how to clear 'Cookies'. I have entered 'Cookies' into Firefox Help and it says no match

Thanks
