Verizon sold email to AOL. I can get msgs, but can't send

Horrible Verizon sold email service to even worse AOL. They said I had to trf my acct to AOL by 18 Feb 16, so I did. Now I can still D/L incoming messages to TBird, but can't reply there. When I try, I get a pop-up asking for a password, and nothing works.

I called AOL and they sent me to Verizon. I've spent about 3 hours talking to Verizon tech spt over two calls on two days for about 3 hours total, with no fix.

Any ideas? Greatly appreciated!
