We have our own domain (cloudnavigation.co.uk) and we use Wix for our website. We set up mail for this domain and were forwarded to Gmail. No problem setting up the mail account (gareth.wredden@cloudnavigation.co.uk) in Gmail & I can access it from there, but I can't access it via Thunderbird. Tbird has no problem accessing either of my other Gmail accounts. What am I doing wrong please?

Aha.

Changed the password from normal to 0Auth2 in the server settings for this account. Got it.

Thanks very much for your help on this

I can't access it via Thunderbird.

What exactly prevents you from accessing the account?

Hi,

Every time I try to log in via Tbird, it asks me to do so via my browser. No problem there - the only difference between this and my other accounts (which are working fine) is that this one goes to our domain.

Any ideas?

re :Every time I try to log in via Tbird, it asks me to do so via my browser.

What is the exact wording - an image showing this message would be helpful. This sounds like your domain server is verifying that you really are the correct person. could you post info:

In Thunderbird 'Help' > 'Troubleshooting Information' click on 'Copy text to clipboard' in this forum question... right click in a 'Post a Reply' text box and select : 'Paste' You can edit/remove all the section on fonts and printers , but nothing else.

Every time I try to log in via Tbird, it asks me to do so via my browser.

There is one Gmail account configured for OAuth2 authentication. What may look like a browser window is probably the Thunderbird Gmail login prompt for OAuth2. You'll need to enter your Gmail password. After that you'll be prompted to give Thunderbird permission to access your Gmail account. You'll need to grant that permission.

No joy there, I'm afraid. I can log in to this email address directly through Gmail, no problem.

When I try to do so via Tbird, I don't get a browser window, I get a password fail/retry/cancel notification within Tbird. I'm using the password which works when I log in via Gmail.

Nope, still not ok.

Having changed the password method to 0Auth2, I was able to log in successfully via Tbird and was asked if it was OK for Tbird to manage this account :)

However, having done all that, when I tried to send a test mail I got the same log in fail message as before.
