I get the following error when trying to access one of my pop mail account:

Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox.

I am able to receive email from another account on the same server so it should not be a privileges issue. I un-clicked the read only property for the Thunderbird folder and all sub-folders. Disk space is also not an issue. Tried compacting and moving old email to local folder.

Chosen solution

I just un-installed Spybot and went back to Windows Defender (Win 10). email is now received.

I was asked to describe what Spybot is. The full name is Spybot Search & Destroy. It used to be a program to search for malware. I did nor realize that it had morphed into "Spybot + AV." I guess the AV part of the program is a bit too aggressive with Thunderbird. I don't know why only one account was affected but it ain't broke now.
