how do I fix disappearing and reappearing scroll bar?

vertical scroll bar ar right appears and disappears in firefox with Windows 10 OS. Does anybody know how to keep the scroll bar visible at all times? I know I can use the "roller" on the mouse to scroll up and down, but I prefer using the cursor and the scroll bar.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • Do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
