I have a new email provider. How do I delete reference to the old one, for which the account has been closed.

Old account is with EarthLink - had it for many years. ...@EarthLink.net Now switched to Spectrum; the new email is with TimeWarnerCable. ...@twc.com Both accounts have been active for two months - concurrently. I now have everyone changed over to the new address, time to delete the old one so I don't keep accidentally "send" on the old account, which will be closed in another 10 days.

Chosen solution

Move any messages you might want to keep into folders under the Local Folders account. Messages still in the account folders will remove with the account.

Right click the account in the folder pane on the left side of the screen. Select Settings. At the bottom of the account listing is Account Actions. Remove Account is there.
