All "Correspondents" in my Sent mail, before 9/14/2017, have reverted to MY NAME. What just happened? And can this be fixed? I can no longer search Sent email by the recipients name.

Are you sure it is a "Correspondents" column, and not "From"? In the Sent folder, the "From" would quite properly be you.

Zenos, I just added the "From" column, but now BOTH the "From" column and the "Correspondents" column are identical ==> BOTH show MY name. This bug just happened in the last 24 hours (The Correspondents column has always been correct, until now).

I don't know of a sure answer. I would go to the folder's Properties and select Repair Folder. The column arrangement is stored in the folder's msf file and this file can become corrupt. This means that an alternative method for repairing the folder is to close Thunderbird and delete the appropriate msf file.

You may find after a repair that you need to re-set your preferences for which columns should be displayed

I try to avoid having a single point of failure, and I don't like to entrust the safe keeping of my messages to a busy folder, such as Inbox or Sent. So I file all my valuable messages, both incoming and outgoing, into their own folders and so seek to keep my Inbox and Sent folders empty.

If your Inbox and Sent folders are very large, I'd be a little nervous about the risk of losing data during a repair, and would back them up beforehand. Another valuable housekeeping technique is compacting, but again the same caveat; back up first, if you don't routinely compact.

Thanks. Repair Folder didn't work. Guess I'm stuck with a corrupted "Correspondents" column in my "Sent" folder.

Matt, you are a freaking genius. That worked.

Ha, I found about 10 different instances of myself in the address book, and removed them all! Now the "Sent" Correspondents are back to normal.
