Since you're on W10, you can also pin TB to the taskbar (right-click the taskbar icon when TB is running, select Pin to taskbar), or add a tile to the Start menu (click Start button, then scroll to Mozilla TB, right-click it and select Pin to Start). These options make TB easily accessible without showing the desktop. But if you still want a desktop shortcut, click the Start button, scroll to Mozilla TB, and drag and drop the icon onto the desktop.
