How do I repair a folder in 52.3.0? All of my sub-folders under Local Folders have disappeared.

I installed 128GB SSD as my C: drive, then redownloaded and reinstalled TB on my D: where it used to be - I simply overwrote it so that the 'system' would know where it was. All of my emails are in my Unified Inbox and in their separate individual email inboxes. However, the 18-20 separate folders I had under Local Folders for organization and filing are gone!

How do I get them back? I cannot find a 'Repair Folder' command any more.

Thunderbird will create its profile, or look for a profile under

Users\<user account>\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird

Where is your Users folder and where is your profiles.ini? I suspect it is still on C:\.

There is a profile.ini on C: that redirects to the original profile on D:, but I still have no Local Folders.

Where is your current 'Local Folders' located? Are you pointing to wrong directory?

Right click on 'Local Folders' in Folder Pane and select 'Settings' Local directory: this should point to the location where your actual 'Local Folders' is stored, but is it pointing to the thunderbird default location instead ? click on 'Browse' button to select the correct location. select folder and click on 'Select folder' button. click on 'OK'

Yes, but what did it say under Local Directory?

It is not pointing to the default location; it is pointing to where the default profile was on the (now) D: drive before I moved it to the new C: drive. I do not see anything there that looks remotely like my old Local Folders. I can only believe that the file/folder is somehow corrupted; that is why I thought I should/could rebuild it.

Please post some images that show the D drive contents of

  1. 'Profile' folder
  2. 'Profile name' folder (usually 'xxxxxxxx.default' where x's are letters and numbers)
  3. 'Mail' folder
  4. 'Local Folders' folder

Note: please make sure the 'Size' column is visible and list of all files and folders within each folder are also visible.
