why doesn't my head phones work in firefox when I am using hangouts
I have head phones with a mic and when I go to hangouts they are not recognized, They were before but it stopped when I updated my firefox to 60.0.2. How can I make them work in this updated firefox? I am not tech savvy so clear direct instructions would be appreciated. Thank you for any advice or help offered.

Did you uninstall and reinstall the driver for the headphone again?
Sound comes from your sound card drivers and or your Video Card Drivers. Have you updated your sound card drivers. Can find out what they are in Device Manager. If Realteck you would want these : http://www.realtek.com.tw/DOWNLOADS/downloadsCheck.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false#High%20Definition%20Audio%20Codecs Also there should be a icon in the tray to adjust type of sound you hear. If not they should be updated to get that control back.
While in Device Manager you can find out your Video Card name and model and find drivers for it and see if the issue is fixed after both of these have been done.
Are you connecting that headset when Firefox is already open?
The headset works fine, the drives are working fine. The problem is that hangouts does not recognise the headset at all.
I guess no one can help with this problem. as it seems to be between firefox and google hang outs.
