Hi all, yesterday Firefox was updating to Firefox Quantum. Result: not one of any website will load! Restarted computer several time, uninstalled and installed at least 3 times. Result: NOTHING WORKS in the new browser. I don't understand never ever had any problems with Mozilla before. What happened to the company?

Thank you for some consolation and maybe advice

hi, please see if the following config change can improve matters: go to the firefox menu ≡ > options > privacy & security panel and under permissions check the setting to prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser.

Hi, sorry having issues. What security are you running please  ? Was there any error messages ? Or is just not running/no start ? Not enough info ....

There is security software like Avast/AVG, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connections and send their own certificate.

Hi Pkshadow,

thank you for your response.

I have Avast and will follow that link you sent to see if this helps.

I'll be back

Hi Pkshadow,

I just did what was said in the link:

Open the dashboard of your Avast or AVG application. Go to Menu > Settings > Components and click Customize next to Web Shield. Uncheck the box next to Enable HTTPS Scanning and confirm this by clicking OK.

Unfortunately the problem persists.

It just has a blank page and the round indicator is circling and nothing more happening.

Also: it is not a security warning or so coming up, the tab stays just blank forever. period

Did you restart after making the changes ?

I did restart the machine but it did not change anything. Just weird.

hi, could you go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information, copy the contents of that page and paste them here into a reply on the forum (or if it's too long through a site like https://pastebin.mozilla.org/ and provide the link here)?

this might give us a clue what is going on. thank you!

Hi philipp,

that was it, things are back to normal.

What a checkmark can do... just amazing.

2 days waisted... why not put it in from the beginning.... who knows ;-)

thanks again
