When I open my browser, Firefox tries to open a file. How do I stop this?

more options

Firefox tries to go to *file:///C:/ProgramData/Quoteexs/snp.sc*, rather than my homepage, which is set as duckduckgo.com. I have checked this already in Options to make sure the homepage was correct. I have also right clicked on the Firefox icon and checked Properties > Shortcut > Target as this was the first option this site said to try. Neither worked so the problem is a little more complex (or more likely I'm a bit dumb!)
