The quick save bookmark star (to 3 dots) went away. How can I restore it?
Earlier today I noticed on my Firefox 72.0.2 for my Mac 10.14.5 that the The quick save bookmark star (to 3 dots) went away. First it said it was disabled, then I closed and restarted it a few times and now it shows it completely gone when I click on the 3 dots. How can I restore it?

You can try refreshing Firefox here: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/.../refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings]
Note that this will reset any add-ons or settings you have set. If you decide to do this reset you will need to reconfigure everything so only do this if you are okay with that.

Do you still see the star in the drop-down list that opens if you click the three dot page actions icon ?
You can find items like "Take a Screenshot" and the Bookmark Star in the drop-down list that opens if you click the "Page actions" button (3-dot icon at the right end of the location/address bar). You can right-click an item in the "Page actions" drop-down list to add its button to the location/address bar for easy access.

Could you elaborate, please ?

If the icon is neither at the end of the address bar nor in Page Info, then would you please go to Preferences => Customize and see if the icon is there ? If it is : you can drag and drop it back to its place ....

So ended up doing a refresh like @GiraffeKey suggested. Thanks, that seemed to do the trick. Still no idea what cause it, but at least it's back now.
There is usually no need to try to recover from such a minor issue by doing a refresh because you probably removed the star by accident via the right-click context menu (right-click -> Remove from Address Bar). You can easily undo this by clicking the three dot icon to open the page actions drop-down list where you see all available page actions and you should see the star as well. You can right-click any item in the drop-down list to find "Add to Address Bar".
Nope, didn't do that. The thing just crashed or something like that and showed it. Should have taken screenshots. Then the spot that said it was crashed just went away. Anyway refreshing worked to get it back. Glad it did.
