Hello,

After some issues with v78 update I downgraded to v68 but I'm not happy with this solution. I, personally, prefer the latest versions of the software and far as I saw (on a virtual machine) v78 it's pretty much stable as a new/fresh installation (and there I don't have same issues as on the working machine after the update). I saw many recommendations as: "the best option is to create a new profile, [...] add your accounts, and then transfer mail, address books etc. from the old profile to the new. It's a bit more work, but avoids issues with using older profiles in updated versions of TB"

And I will like to try that but my question is "how"? To create a new profile is simple, understood. But how to "transfer" mails to have all the mails right on the new profile w/o duplicate or missing mails? I have multiple accounts - some pop3 (so then popstate files from old profile matter to not download again all mails) other are IMAP - here I can subscribe again but many mails will be processed again. I have many filters so also msgFilterRules for each account matter if I want all to work fine. So how to create a new profile (or a new installation) but still to have all "old settings" back.

Many thanks in advance!

Each POP3 and IMAP account has its own folder under Mail and ImapMail folders respectively, that stores all the emails, popstate and msgfilterrules for each account. So, you could try adding an account to a new profile, Quit Thunderbird and replace ALL the contents of that account's new folder with those from the old profile and see how it goes.
