I have downloaded and installed the latest version of Firefox, but if I try to set it as the default Web Browser I just get an error box which says:

"Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To use Firefox, you must first close the existing Firefox process, restart your device, or use a different profile."

Try running Mozilla version of Firefox. This is just to test and see if you can set it as Default. I'm currently on a Mac, but there is a similar option for me in openSUSE. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release
