Can Thunderbird be made to autoscroll to new inbox messages?

If I set the inbox date order so that the most recent messages are at the top then that works fine, however I prefer to display the most recent messages at the bottom, yet when I download new messages I always need to scroll down to see the latest.

Is there a way around that so that TB autoscrolls to the latest?

Have you updated to version 115.4.1 ? If yes, did you find it now works - auto scrolls to new message or is it still a problem ?

I'm using 115.4.1 and the problem (no autoscroll) is still there. Thanks.
