I have a Mac Air. I discovered I have 80G of emails in storage. I use Thunderbird (IMAP), so I didn't think anything got stored on my Mac. Then I discovered Mail and it has all my emails there too. Can I remove the emails from Mail without losing them?

IMAP accounts are downloaded to computer for thunderbird access. So, they are on computer and also on server. If you delete from computer, IMAP's sync feature also removes from server. You can manage this somewhat by not storing content on computer, just headers. This URL may give some help: https://kb.mozillazine.org/IMAP:_advanced_account_configuration
