if I close firefox and try to open it again I get the message " firefox is already running close process or restart the computer" but I cannot find any processes to close. I can open multiple sessions of firefox until I close firefox

Something is probably keeping Firefox from closing properly.

Well how perceptive of you ! yes that is exactly what is happening. It is NOT hanging
